The second Test match between England and Pakistan at Southampton was affected by rain on the last day and a draw was made. With this, England’s team is still 1-0 ahead in the series. England scored 110 for 4 on the fifth day. Joe Route 9 and Jose Butler returned to the pavilion unbeaten on zero.

The incessant rain disrupted the game before the final day began. The game started in the final session when Jack Crowley and Dominic Sibley added 91 runs for the second wicket. Crowley was dismissed for 53 after completing his half-century. After him Sibli also returned to the pavilion on a personal score of 32 runs. England lost 3 wickets in the last session game and they kind of practiced for the next match. The final Test match is also to be held on this ground.Rain has made the series more difficult for Pakistan. Mohammad Abbas took 2 wickets and Shaheen Afridi took 1 wicket for Pakistan. Yasir Shah also got 1 wicket.

Pakistan scored 236 runs in the first innings in whatever game happened during the last 4 days of rain. In response, the England team got to play a few overs at the end of the fourth day. After that, rain and wet outfield hampered the match due to bad weather for the fifth day. England are ahead in the series so Pakistan will have to win the match under any circumstances.

England have a big edge in Test series

By winning the first Test match, England are ahead, so their upper hand is heavy. Pakistan will have to win the final match to save the series. The final match will be held in Southampton. The England team will also try to win the match and win the series 2–0.
