In the 9th match of CPL 2020, the Trinbago Knight Riders defeated the defending champions Barbados Tridents by 19 runs. This is Trinbago third consecutive win in this CPL season, while Barbados have now lost 2 matches.
Trinbago, who scored 185 for 3 wickets in the first game, has the highest score on this ground in the CPL. In response, the Barbados team could score 166 runs for 6 wickets despite getting a good start. Colin Munro was adjudged Man of the Match for his tremendous innings.

Barbados got off to a great start with a opening pair of Johnson Charles and Shai Hope. Both players took full advantage of Power Play and scored over 60 runs. However, at 68, Johnson Charles was dismissed for 52 off 33 balls. Shai Hope also returned to the pavilion after scoring 36 off 38 balls.
The middle order of Barbados flopped all over and they lost 5 wickets for 120 runs. From here captain Jason Holder and Ashley Nurse handled the innings but could not win. Captain Holder remained unbeaten on 34 off 19 balls and Nurse scored 21 off 12 balls.
