CPL 2020 – St. Lucia Jukes third consecutive win, beat Guyana by 10 runs

In the 10th match of the CPL 2020, St. Lucia Jukes defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 10 runs. With this, St. Lucia Jukes registered their third consecutive win in the CPL this season.

He defeated Barbados Tridents in the first match of this season of CPL. St. Lucia scored 144 for 7 wickets in the first game and Guyana’s team could manage 134 runs for 8 wickets. Roston Chase was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

St Lucia captain Darren Sammy decided to bat after winning the toss. However, the team did not have a good start and by 19 runs had two setbacks in the form of Mark Dayal and Kimani Milius.

Andre Fletcher was also dismissed for a score of 41 and Najibullah Jadran returned to the pavilion without opening the account. St Lucia’s team looked in trouble after losing 4 wickets for just 42 runs.

From here, Mohammad Nabi and Roston Chase handled the innings and shared a 57-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Nabi was dismissed for 27 off 24 balls. At the other end, Roston Chase scored 66 runs off just 51 balls to give his team a respectable score. Imran Tahir took 3 wickets for Guyana.

Guyana Amazon Warriors also lost 3 wickets for just 7 runs. In the middle order, wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Puran smashed 68 runs off 49 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six.

Chemo Paul scored 20 and Sherfen Rutherford tried their best to score 15 runs off 9 balls but could not win the team. Scott Cugline once again scored 3 wickets for St Lucia.
